Continuing on with producing features that our customers request, Avantex are proud to offer the ability to create your own custom menus within CableSolve. Menus such as 'telnet', 'ssh', 'browse' or 'ping' can be created and further enhance the usability of your inventory database.

What is Connectivity Management?
CableSolve is a World leader in cable connectivity software.
With the ability to track end-to-end connectivity of all your infrastructure (Data Centre, workstations and campus), all chains in a connection can be displayed in a graphical format on both the desktop pc's and hand held barcode scanners.
By knowing what is connected to where, recovery time from outages can be dramatically reduced, with the old method of 'tug and trace' no longer required.
End-to-End connection viewsWith the release of CableSolve R6, users are now able to view a host of information related to their Data Centre, client floors, a whole campus, or an entire World Wide organisation. Unique icons are used that show a chain of connections, from a simple patch panel to patch panel configuration, to a boom gate in an Airport Car Park, with all connections (including media converters) back to the computer room. |
Multiple 'levels' of detailsDepending on your role in the organisation, you may or may not want to see all the cables in-between at chain of connections. As an example, a server administrator may just want to find out what servers are connected to a particular switch. On the flip side, the cabling staff may want to see the full end-to-end connections for these servers. CableSolve has a quick and intuitive way to help, with a simple click, users can specify how many 'levels' of connections they can see. |
Graphical viewsCableSolve has an advanced but easy to understand graphical view of cable connectivity. Whether you are connecting via patch panels, wall outlets, or video distribution, a complete end-to-end view of all the cable connections will be displayed in a easy to understand windows tree format. Individual graphical icons designate the type of cable in the system, as well as the patch panels, wall outlets and components (servers, switches etc). If you do not like the standard ones that are supplied with the system, you have full control to easily modify or create an entire set of your own. |
Pits and PipesNot only does CableSolve document and visually display a 'normal' cable run, but additional features are built in to include and document Pits, Pipes and Conduits. With easy tools on the hand held scanners to assist in the data capture, such features as 'scan to conduit' can be utilised to ensure that a particular fibre flows through the relevant conduits within an entire building, all with a simple click and scan approach. |
All and Any cable typeUnlike similar 'active' patch solutions, CableSolve can include any type of cable (past, present or future) to be added in to the system. With templates already created for Power Cables, Fibre, Copper, Serial, SCSI, KVM, with standards such as Cat 3,4,5,6 & 7, OM1, 2 & 3, COAX, SCSI, Serial and infinity band to name a few. Our customers have the flexibility to create their own cable types (and cable standards) if their organisation requires a 'unique' type that is not in the system. |
Cable Lengths recordedNot only does CableSolve record the type of cable in the system (eg, Cat 6a), it also records the
Test results from horizontal cabling can also be easily imported in to the system, to ensure that you can capture and monitor full end-to-end cable lengths for your organisation. This ensures that when you perform a connection, you are conforming to the industry standards for that cable type's category and electrical length. |
Inbuilt Standards ComplianceCableSolve has built in Industry Standards (ISO11801, AS3080, TIA/EIA568Bx) for cable lengths, based on their performance versus applications protocol and supported length. As the cabling and protocol technologies change, so too can CableSolve by the user configuration tool to reflect the new standards. |
