This network is a key feature of Interop and is built in collaboration with hand selected, innovative vendors and volunteers, who come together to create a completely interoperable network using the industry’s most cutting edge technology.
What are Work Orders & Change Control?
One of the standard features of CableSolve is the Drag and Drop Work Orders module.
With the ability to not only record what changes are to take place and when, but more importantly, each and every step in the change, organisations can now have full exposure to the associated risks and dependencies prior to any work taking place.
With the ability to reserve ports on switches and patch panels, the ability for users to unknowingly use something that was booked in advance is a thing of the past.
Undirected Work OrdersThis type of work order is used when additional details are not required. Details of the schedule of the change (i.e. Earliest Date, Desired Date and Lates date) are all recorded, ensuring that changes take place within a specified window. A full history of all upcoming and post changes are recorded against the equipment, which differs from most systems on todays market and make CableSolve a key to ensuring you know what has changed in your environment. |
Directed Work OrdersDirected Work Orders expands on the Undirected Work Order by detailing all of the steps for the associated change control. Users are able to drag and drop equipment in to racks, or in to their associated space. Moreover, users are able to plan the connectivity of new equipment with a simple drag and drop interface, reserving ports on patch panels or switches. |
Executing changes on the Hand HeldOne of the unique tools in the CableSolve suite is the ability to record changes where and when they happen. By executing Work Orders on the Hand Held scanners, users can record the barcode of the equipment being installed, and also the barcodes of the cables that are being connected. Once the change has been completed, the Work Order can be closed and the data syncronised directly back to the central database. This negates the convential way of using paper and updated a spreadsheet at a later stage. |
Reporting on ChangesThrough the Reporting Module, changes past, present and future can be view within the software, printed out, or automatically sent to users inboxes. Futher, via the API, Work Orders can be linked to other change control systems (eg, Remedy, Digital Workflow) to either upload or download information. The reports can be used for regular change control meetings, or for Management meetings if required. |
What are the Business Benefits of Work Orders?
CableSolve has many benefits for an organisations to be able to:
- Drecrease MAC times dramatically, resulting in revenue savings
- Plan changes before they take place, down to the patch panel, switch, or server port level
- Reserve ports on patch panels, switch blades, or wall outlets
- Record changes on the Hand Held, where and when they take place
- Link to other change control/GPM systems to share detailed information
