The 2016 Data Center Optimization Initiative (DCOI) from the Federal Office of Management and Budget (OMB) mandates that all data centers under the control of federal government agencies optimize existing facilities and report on their progress with a goal of late 2018 for compliance. The US Government DCOI Implementation program lists five key optimization metrics to be reported on by federally-controlled data centers and summarized at an agency level.
